New Women's Collection Really Sings as Designer Ivey Abitz Releases Companion Recording
TelAve News/10897199
Ivey Abitz Bespoke clothing clients planning their wardrobe receive the new cd single recorded by Ivey Abitz along with fabric swatches.
HUDSON VALLEY, N.Y. - TelAve -- Designer Ivey Abitz has released her 79th collection of bespoke clothing, the More Collection.
Musical references abound in the new Ivey Abitz designs and fabrics. The collection clothes women who are turning away from ready to wear racks and who want looks made just for them.
Stripes in fabric imitate the grooves of vinyl records. A natural sand crinkled weave frock presents a black ribbon-embellished treble clef across the skirting. Antique glass buttons appear as circular shapes of records or cd's. Dotted fabrics represent music notation.
Driving the idea home, fabric swatches for clients are presented on retired juke box records.
From the representational to the literal, the theme of the More Collection is music. Ivey Abitz released a recording of More, the 1962 song penned by Riz Ortolani, to accompany the collection. The recording was produced by Cynthia's husband, Josh, who is also the photographer for the Ivey Abitz brand.

You could say they have crossed over into music, but artist Cynthia Ivey Abitz refuses artistic labels: "There are no boundaries when you are an artist. One medium melts into another and life becomes your canvas. We never thought of ourselves as strictly photographers, and we've never thought of ourselves as strictly clothing designers. We are artists first and foremost."
Designer Cynthia Ivey Abitz is well known for naming her fabrics in lieu of coldhearted numbers or sku's, and this collection is no exception. Lyrical names like Far Beyond Forever Blue and Speaker Cover Red add to the musical ambience.
You can hear the Ivey Abitz recording of More on your favorite streaming service, or you can buy the cd single at the Ivey Abitz website, https://iveyabitz.com/about-more/. The More Collection features bespoke garments for women, made in New York, available exclusively from https://IveyAbitz.com.
