Please help us welcome Dr Oakes to our team.
FREDERICK, Md. - TelAve -- PearlFection Dentistry is pleased to announce that we have hired Dr Leslie Oakes, a board-certified pediatric dentist, also known as a pedodontist, who will begin seeing children and adolescent dental patients. We are pleased to announce this new addition to our dental team and we extend a warm welcome for our patients to schedule dental appointments for their children. The team at Pearlfection Dentistry is thrilled to have this additional resource in house.
Board-Certified in pediatric dental care, Dr Leslie Oakes brings with her the skills to see special needs dental patients, young children and adolescent. Dr Oakes is able to perform the most complicated and technically challenging procedures on children, from crowns and bridges, to fillings, cleanings and sedation. This Board-Certified Pedodontist is supported by the entire PearlFection team of general and cosmetic dentists, oral surgeons, periodontists, orthodontists, endodontists, and prosthodontist and support staff.
When it comes to providing superior dental care, PearlFection is always looking for the best talent, and with the addition of Dr Oakes, our team is that much stronger. Dr Oakes, will lead the pedodontist team, preforming and overseeing children's dental cases that our general doctors feel would be better served by a pedodontist specialist. Dr Oakes will work closely with our general dentist and especially with our orthodontist, Dr Tigani and oral surgeon, Dr Chang to develop comprehensive treatment plans for our child dental patients.
Dr. Leslie Oakes is a board-certified pediatric dentist and also a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army. Dr. Oakes graduated from the University of South Alabama with a degree in Biomedical Sciences after which she then went on to earn her dental degree at the University of Florida College of Dentistry. Upon graduation, Dr. Oakes completed a 1 year Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Ft. Carson, Colorado and practiced as a general dentist for several years prior to pursing her passion in pediatric dentistry. Dr. Oakes was competitively selected among her peers to represent the Army in a civilian program and earned her certificate in Pediatric Dentistry at the Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas. While rotating through Children's Medical Center and Texas Scottish Rite Children's Hospital in Dallas, she had the opportunity to treat a variety of children from healthy to severely medically compromised. She considers it a privilege and an honor to welcome all kids into her practice and looks forward to creating a "dental home" for the children in the Frederick Maryland community.

We asked PearlFection Dentistry for a comment as to why they brought Dr Oakes to Frederick and Urbana to provide child dental care. PearlFection General Manager, Stewart Stringer commented, saying "We have been searching a long time for the final piece to our comprehensive dental care puzzle. We have general dentists, emergency dentists, endodontists, oral surgeons, prosthodontists and denture specialists, we even have periodontists and orthodontists. With the addition of a pediatric doctor we now have all the specialists under one roof. We were still sending out special needs and some kids to pediatric specialist. Patients wanted us to serve their kids and now we can. We can offer 100% comprehensive care to the entire family for any type of dental care. It is rare for a practice to have such a wide and deep team. We provide exceptional dental care in Frederick Maryland and Urbana Maryland and patients from all over Maryland, DC, Virginia, West Virginia and Pennsylvania seek us out because of our reputation of providing exception dental care with excellent customer service. I'm proud of our team and I'm proud of the level of care we provide. It has taken us a long time to get here and with the addition of Dr Oakes at the helm of our pediatric department, we have finally reached a goal we have had for 10 years."
