Pittsburgh Divorce Attorney Candice L. Komar Elected Chair of PBA Family Law Section

PITTSBURGH - TelAve -- Pollock Begg Partner Candice L. Komar was elected to serve as chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Family Law Section at the PBA Family Law Section 2026 summer meeting in Chicago.
The PBA is a voluntary professional membership organization representing nearly 1,000 family law practitioners and law students across the commonwealth. The Family Law Section focuses its efforts on the development and practical application of the law related to marriage, divorce, support and custody, as well as other domestic matters including adoption, assisted reproduction technology, parentage, LGBTQ and juvenile issues.
Komar has previously served as chair-elect, first vice-chair, second vice-chair, secretary and treasurer for the Family Law Section.
"What I've always valued about the Family Law Section is the spirit of practitioners helping practitioners, whether through mentoring newer attorneys, weighing in on court rules or advocating for sensible reforms," Komar said. "I see how that work ultimately benefits families across Pennsylvania, and I'm proud to be a part of it."

A fierce litigator also certified in mediation and arbitration, Komar excels at divorces involving valuation of closely held businesses, complex custody and child support litigation and custody relocation. Known for successfully crafting legal strategies leveraging the interests of both parties, Komar was voted 2024 Pittsburgh "Lawyer of the Year" in Family Law Mediation through The Best Lawyers in America peer review process.
In addition to her leadership roles within the PBA, she previously chaired the Pennsylvania Supreme Court Continuing Legal Education Board and is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Foundation, Three Rivers Collaborative Divorce, the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.
A sought-after speaker and lecturer on negotiation, conflict resolution and alternative dispute resolutions, Komar has been featured in Pennsylvania Super Lawyers, Pittsburgh Magazine and The Legal Intelligencer.
