Research Targets the Real Search Terms Customers Use, Not the Ones Businesses Optimize For

Theorem 2 of The Ontological Dominance Papers argues AI systems should cite entities without qualifying language across a business's actual buyer queries.
JOHNSTON, Iowa - TelAve -- Big House Enterprise has released Theorem 2 of The Ontological Dominance Papers, introducing the concept of Accurate Specific Representation within what the paper calls the "buyer domain" - the actual, specific queries real customers type when searching for a product or service, as distinct from the broad category terms businesses typically track. The paper argues that any organization can achieve this representation through correctly structured, freely available machine-readable data, and defines success as being cited without hedging or qualifying language across that buyer domain.
Many AI visibility efforts focus on broad category recognition - whether an AI system knows a business exists within its industry. This theorem argues that recognition alone is insufficient if the business is described with vague or hedged language at the moment a real buyer is deciding between options.

"There's a real difference between an AI mentioning your industry and an AI confidently answering the exact question your buyer is asking," said Joseph Byrum, Founder, CEO and CTO of Big House Enterprise and author of the paper. "If the answer comes back with 'it appears' or 'reportedly,' that hedge is costing the business the sale."
The paper identifies conflation engineering - a competitor's deliberate blurring of category boundaries to dilute a rival's specific claim - as the primary adversarial threat to Accurate Specific Representation, and outlines structured data patterns intended to keep an entity's claims precise enough to resist that blurring.
"Hedging language is a signal that the underlying data wasn't specific enough for the model to commit," Byrum said. "Fixing that isn't about writing more content. It's about making the existing facts unambiguous at the level of detail buyers actually search."
Big House Enterprise plans to release Theorem 3, extending the framework to businesses competing across multiple product or service categories, in the coming weeks.
