Founder of Sherwin & Associates highlights a career spanning athletics, entrepreneurship and financial services, including National Life Group Diamond Club recognition in 2025
ORLANDO, Fla. - TelAve -- Sherwin Sargeant, founder of Sherwin & Associates and a former University of Central Florida soccer standout, is reflecting on a professional journey that has taken him from collegiate athletics to entrepreneurship and recognition within the financial services industry.
Sargeant's career milestones include National Life Group Diamond Club recognition in 2025, National Life Group Conference of Champions in 2019, RPA Top Producer in 2008 and ING Top Recruit in 2006. Together, the recognitions span nearly two decades of his career in financial services.
For Sargeant, the achievements represent more than individual recognition. They reflect a professional philosophy built around principles he first developed through competitive athletics: preparation, discipline, teamwork, resilience and consistency.

"Soccer taught me early that talent alone isn't enough," said Sherwin Sargeant. "You have to prepare, remain disciplined and continue working toward your goals even when nobody is watching. Those lessons followed me from the soccer field into business and financial services."
From UCF Soccer to Financial Services
Before entering financial services, Sargeant competed in collegiate soccer at the University of Central Florida (UCF). His experience as a student-athlete helped shape an approach to business centered on preparation, competition, teamwork and long-term thinking.
After his collegiate athletic career, Sargeant transitioned into business and financial services, ultimately founding Sherwin & Associates.
Over the years, his work has included financial and retirement education, with a particular focus on helping educators, public employees, individuals and families better understand retirement options and long-term financial decisions.

Sargeant says the progression from athlete to entrepreneur and financial professional has reinforced his belief that long-term results rarely come from a single accomplishment.
"Recognition is something you appreciate, but I don't view an award as the finish line," Sargeant said. "The bigger responsibility is continuing to educate, serve and build relationships with the people and organizations that place their trust in you."
Looking Toward the Future
Today, Sargeant continues to lead Sherwin & Associates while expanding the firm's educational and employer-focused initiatives. His vision is to continue building resources that help individuals and organizations become better informed about financial wellness, retirement and other decisions that can affect their long-term financial futures.
He believes the principles developed through athletics remain just as relevant today.
"I've experienced different chapters as an athlete, entrepreneur and financial professional," Sargeant said. "What connects them is a belief in preparation, education, resilience and consistency. I'm proud of what we've accomplished, but I'm even more excited about what we're building next."
