Smarta Energy's 99km Christmas Challenge
TelAve News/10910431
Three senior leaders will travel from Leeds to Lapland Manchester to raise £10,000 for Cash for Kids.
LEEDS, U.K. - TelAve -- Three senior leaders from Smarta Energy are preparing to exchange meetings for miles as they undertake a demanding 99km fundraising challenge for Cash for Kids' Mission Christmas.
In the early hours of Tuesday morning, 3rd November, Kieran Dixon, Lee Jacques and Scott Birley will leave Smarta Energy's Garforth office and begin their journey to Lapland Manchester at Capesthorne Hall.
The trio will alternate between running and walking as they travel through communities across Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Greater Manchester and Cheshire. A Smarta Energy support team will accompany them throughout the challenge, coordinating checkpoints, supplies, community engagement and campaign updates.
The destination may be closer than Finland, but completing 99km in hopefully one day will still provide a significant physical and mental test.
Through its Smarta Steps to Santa campaign, the company hopes to raise £10,000 for Mission Christmas and help children and young people who might otherwise wake up without a present on Christmas morning.

The challenge forms part of a wider programme of fundraising, gift collections, volunteering and workplace activities being delivered by the Smarta Energy team in support of the appeal.
Kieran Dixon said:
"Every child deserves to feel remembered at Christmas. We wanted to take on a challenge that would bring people together, raise awareness and make a meaningful contribution to the work Cash for Kids does for children and families in our communities.
Running and walking 99km will certainly test us, but that is exactly why we chose it. We hope our colleagues, clients, partners and the communities we pass through will get behind us and help make every mile count."
Smarta Energy has supported Cash for Kids since the business was formed, giving the team an opportunity to see how donations, fundraising and volunteering translate into practical support for local families.
For a child facing hardship, receiving a present provides more than something to unwrap. It brings excitement, hope and the reassurance that they have not been forgotten.
The company is also inviting businesses situated along the route to become part of the challenge. Organisations can contribute by donating, sharing the campaign with their employees and customers, posting about the event or simply cheering the team on as they pass.
