Spokane: Indigenous Peoples' Day Is Oct. 12

~ Spokane's on-street parking meters and kiosks will not require payment on Indigenous Peoples' Day, Monday, Oct. 12, the city said. Parking rules, including time limits, will remain in effect.

City offices will be open as usual, and garbage, recycling, and food and yard waste collection will follow the normal schedule, according to the city.

The city said Spokane is home to one of the nation's largest urban Native populations, representing hundreds of Indigenous tribes and bands. It expressed respect and gratitude for Indigenous communities' presence and contributions.
