TelAve News/10899817
~ Springfield residents now have more time to apply for the Spring Forward SGF Citizens' Advisory Board (CAB), as the deadline has been extended to June 18 at 5 p.m. This board is responsible for reviewing and making recommendations for the use of the ½-cent portion of a ¾-cent sales tax, known as Spring Forward SGF, which was passed in 2024. The tax funds are designated for transformative capital improvement projects, community and neighborhood initiatives, and park projects.
In order to comply with the City Charter, the board has been restructured with some changes in membership requirements. The board will now consist of nine members, in accordance with City Charter requirements. All members must be registered voters and have lived within Springfield city limits for at least two years. They must also meet all other board requirements.
