Texas: Governor Abbott Appoints Wilhelm As Judge Of The 504th Judicial District Court In Ellis County

~ Governor Greg Abbott has announced the appointment of Gregory "Greg" Wilhelm as the new Judge of the 504th Judicial District Court in Ellis County. The appointment will be effective from December 1, 2025, and will expire on December 31, 2026, or until a successor is elected and qualified.

Wilhelm, a resident of Midlothian, is currently a partner at Cantey Hanger, LLP in the Ellis County Office. He brings with him a wealth of experience, having previously served as Trial Court Judge for the Ellis County Court at Law No. 1.

In addition to his legal career, Wilhelm is also actively involved in various organizations. He currently serves as president of the Ellis County Bar Association and is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Dallas Bar Association, and Christian Legal Society. He also serves on the Midlothian Economic Development Board and is chairman of the Regent University School of Law Alumni Board.

Wilhelm's dedication to public service is evident through his past roles as chairman of the Texas Governor's Parental Rights Advisory Panel and member of the Texas Governor's Juvenile Justice Advisory Board. He has also served as founding board president for CASA of Ellis County, Inc. and Statewide Board President for Texas CASA.

Wilhelm's impressive educational background includes a Bachelor of Business Administration in Journalism from Baylor University, a Master of Arts in Public Policy from Robertson School of Government, and a Juris Doctor from Regent University School of Law.

With his extensive experience and qualifications, Governor Abbott is confident that Wilhelm will serve with integrity and fairness as Judge for the 504th Judicial District Court in Ellis County.
