Texas: Governor Abbott Reappoints Three To Real Estate Research Advisory Committee

~ Governor Greg Abbott has announced the reappointment of three individuals to the Real Estate Research Advisory Committee. Vicki Fullerton, Harry Gibbs, and Rebecca Vajdak will continue to serve on the committee until January 31, 2031.

The Real Estate Research Advisory Committee plays a crucial role in reviewing and approving proposals related to staffing and general policies of the Real Estate Center at Texas A&M University System. The committee also determines the priority ranking of research studies conducted by the center.

Vicki Fullerton, a resident of The Woodlands, brings a wealth of experience to the committee. She currently serves as a broker associate at RE/MAX - The Woodlands & Spring and has previously held leadership positions in organizations such as Texas REALTORS, Houston Association of REALTORS, and The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce. Fullerton is also an active member of the National Association of REALTORS and Women's Council of Realtors. In addition to her professional commitments, she is also involved in various community organizations such as the Nancy Owens Breast Cancer Foundation and All Ears.

Joining Fullerton on the committee is Harry Gibbs from Georgetown. Gibbs is an associate real estate broker with Keller Williams Realty Lone Star and has extensive experience in the industry. He currently serves as a board member for Williamson County Central Appraisal District and is a member of both National Association of REALTORS and Texas REALTORS. Gibbs has also held leadership positions in organizations such as Georgetown Sunrise Rotary Club and Georgetown Planning and Zoning Commission. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a focus on Real Estate and Urban Land Development from The University of Texas at Austin.

The third reappointed member, Rebecca "Becky" Vajdak from Temple, brings a diverse background to the committee. She recently retired after owning Vajdak Properties for 20 years. Vajdak is actively involved in various organizations such as Blue Star Mothers of America, American Needlepoint Guild, Inc (ANG), Embroiderers' Guild of America, and the Ben Milam Chapter Daughters of the Republic of Texas. She also holds leadership positions in the Texas Society of the DAR and is a member of Lodge #88 of the Slovanska Podporujici Jednota Statu Texas (SPJST). Vajdak holds a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture Economics and a Master's degree in Agricultural Land Economics from Texas A&M University.

These reappointments are subject to Senate confirmation. Governor Abbott has expressed his confidence in these individuals and their ability to continue serving on the Real Estate Research Advisory Committee. Their expertise and dedication will undoubtedly contribute to the success of the committee's important work.
