ALMS Community Health Center Highlights the Importance of Early and Preventive Care
AUSTIN, Texas - TelAve -- Good healthcare often begins long before a medical emergency.
It begins with a routine checkup, a preventive screening, a conversation about mental health or managing a chronic condition before it becomes a crisis.
Since opening in November 2019, ALMS Community Health Center has worked to make those moments possible for patients and families throughout North Texas. Today, the nonprofit healthcare organization provides ongoing care for more than 700 active patients and cared for over 500 patients during the COVID-19 pandemic, helping improve healthcare access when it was needed most.
"Our goal has always been to help patients stay healthy, not simply treat illness," said Sharan Allen, MSN, APRN, AGNP-C, Vice President and Co-Owner of ALMS Community Health Center. "Preventive care, education and early intervention give people the opportunity to live healthier lives."
