Texas Sets New Record For Total Jobs In June
TelAve News/10901589
~ In a recent announcement, Governor Greg Abbott praised the state of Texas for its thriving job market. According to data from the Texas Workforce Commission, the state set a new record for total nonfarm jobs in June, reaching a high of 14,469,600 after a gain of 43,400 jobs.
Governor Abbott expressed his pride in Texas as "the place where the American dream lives." He attributed this success to the state's commitment to freedom and innovation, which has resulted in prosperity for hardworking individuals. He also noted that Texas continues to lead in business investment and population growth.
The June labor market data also showed that Texas outpaced the national annual job growth rate. Over the past year, the state gained 177,900 jobs while the U.S. as a whole saw slower growth. Additionally, there were 15,203,600 Texans working (including self-employed individuals) and a total labor force of 15,904,900.

In another exciting development for the state's economy, Governor Abbott announced on Thursday that Saronic Technologies Inc. will be constructing a next-generation shipyard at the Port of Brownsville. This shipyard is expected to be the largest in the country and will be called Port Alpha. It will focus on manufacturing medium- and large-class autonomous and autonomy-capable vessels.
This project represents a significant investment of $3.2 billion and is expected to create 10,000 new jobs. With this addition to its already robust job market, Texas is poised for continued economic growth and expanded opportunities for generations to come.
