The appointment marks the next milestone in CTG's growth, following the attainment of charitable status in 2024 and a successful annual conference in 2025. CTG is entering this new chapter with renewed ambition to positively engage Government, support its members and partners, and deliver change for the charity sector.
The Charity Tax Group has been the trusted voice of charities on tax for over 40 years, working to secure a fair environment and save good causes over £10 billion. CTG delivers guidance and practical support to help charities reduce their tax burden and offers a platform for charities and stakeholders to come together and discuss the challenges and issues they face regarding charity tax.
Richard Bray, Chair of the Charity Tax Group, said:
"As Chair, I'm excited to announce that Luke will be joining the Charity Tax Group as our first CEO. It was apparent from our first conversation that Luke shares our values and our drive to positively engage Government, serve our members and partners, and deliver change in the charity sector. As well as his dedication to public service, we were particularly impressed with Luke's collaborative approach, driving legislative change to introduce stronger rights for neonatal leave as one example. Please join me in welcoming Luke as we take CTG into the new year and continue our mission for a fairer tax environment for charities."
