The Nexodus: 8 Years, $260, and 7 Billion Square Feet
TelAve News/10903268
Nexodus Clean marks its 8th anniversary. The wildly important goal, people.
DALLAS - TelAve -- 8 years ago today, Shanandiss Hampton walked away from a corporate leadership role in IT and telecommunications. A multimillion dollar budget. A sales quota. And, more importantly, 96 leaders and employees who touched thousands of customers a month.
She did not go door to door. She used the tech acumen built over a career in telecommunications to find her first residential client in Tulsa. An investment of $260 in cleaning supplies and purpose got that house cleaned, before there was an employee to hire.
8 years later, Nexodus Clean has serviced more than 3,128 commercial, retail, medical, and federal sites nationwide. More than 7 billion square feet. 300+ under active service today and we can do more.
And not a single dollar from an investor or a loan. Not one, to this day. Every expansion was funded by the work itself. Growth that owes nobody answers only to the mission.

A building gets clean in a night. A community gets built over a generation.
The cleaning was never the only point. It is the minimum expectation and the door.
Nexodus BPO Inc. serves attorneys, therapists, athletic organizations, micro schools, authors, medical practices, retail networks, and federal agencies.
The building. Facilities handled so the work inside them can happen.
The back office. Most owners have the vision. What they lack is the path, and it gets laid brick by brick. A therapist did not go to graduate school to chase invoices.
The person. Talented hires arrive with the degree and the technical fluency their program promised. Then they stall. Not because they cannot do the work, but because school taught the industry and never taught the soft skills: how to speak up in a room, how to receive correction, how to lead peers. That gap is underemployment for the professional and turnover for the employer, and it is fixable. It is why the next chapter reaches into rooms and onto stages: speaking, and school district partnerships built on paid curriculum.

Nexodus is a trifecta: Nexodus Clean for facilities, Nexodus BPO Inc. for consulting and executive support, and Nexodus Institute, a 501(c)(3) attacking underemployment. 3 organizations. 1 thesis.
The scoreboard for the next 8 years is 3 numbers: buildings supported, businesses consulted, professionals who earn more.
"I get named in these articles, and that has never once been accurate," said Hampton. "8 years happened because a dispatcher answered a 4 a.m. call, and because people bet on this before there was a reason to. My job is to make sure the next set do not start with $260 and a maybe."
If you coordinate facilities, tell us where your sites are. If you are building without a back office, tell us where the bottleneck is. If you lead a school or district, ask about curriculum and speaking. Your students are earning the credential. We help them earn the room. And if you know someone, forward this. For somebody, it is the nudge.
