Leon originally began developing Crypto Corner Shop in Afghanistan before relocating to Iran in search of better opportunities and working conditions.
However, political instability, conflict, and widespread internet disruptions in Iran created enormous challenges for the young developer. After months of uncertainty and repeated development setbacks, Leon escaped Iran in early May 2026, returning to Afghanistan.
Building Against the Odds
Returning to Afghanistan presented a new set of obstacles.
Days with just six hours of electricity were common. Slow internet speeds, extremely high ping, and frequent connectivity problems made software development extraordinarily difficult.

Despite these challenges, Leon remained determined to complete the marketplace he had spent years building.
When the time came to launch Crypto Corner Shop, unreliable electricity threatened to derail the process.
Leon rented a generator and kept it running for multiple days, personally bearing the additional costs to ensure the marketplace could successfully launch.
In June 2026, Crypto Corner Shop officially launched in Afghanistan, in the very country where Leon had originally begun developing it.
It was a bittersweet achievement. After leaving Afghanistan for a better future, only to be forced back by circumstances in Iran, Leon had finally completed his mission in the place where it all started.
A New Chapter Begins
In early October 2026, Leon successfully departed Afghanistan once again.
For security reasons, Crypto Corner Shop will not disclose his current location. Protecting his safety and privacy remains a priority.
With this difficult chapter behind him, Leon is now focused on advancing Crypto Corner Shop's technology.
His upcoming development priorities include upgrading the CCS payment engine to improve cryptocurrency payment infrastructure and preparing the marketplace to support DigiDollar (DD), a decentralized stablecoin powered by the DigiByte ecosystem.
