Discover How This Author's Passion for Storytelling Inspires Young Readers to Achieve Success Through the Joy of Books
RALEIGH, N.C. - TelAve -- Despite skepticism from teachers about his spelling and grammar skills, Eddie Jones became a "blessed selling" author for Zonderkidz™ HarperCollins.
Initially rejected by NC State due to a low SAT score and average grades, he persevered and graduated with a degree in English/Journalism.
"I've always loved telling stories and writing, so while I was on staff for the Technician, State's newspaper, I started taking journalism courses. Since my grammar skills were poor, I decided to major in English. My thinking was that if I majored in English, at least I'd improve my grammar."
This determination shaped his path and inspired his belief that with perseverance and passion, we can achieve our goals. His writing philosophy emphasizes that storytelling is more important than perfect grammar.
"Editors and proofreaders can help you look good, but even the best editor can't make a bad story great. For me, writing starts with the story."

Eddie values exploring personal experiences in writing, delving into the heart, soul, and wounds that shape the author. This approach allows for deeper connections with readers. He believes writing should reflect life's complexities and inspire, all while maintaining a sense of humor.
As a passionate advocate for reading, and a writers coach, Eddie argues that reading is the key to freedom.
"Through reading, we learn, gain understanding, and develop wisdom. Studies show that reading improves cognitive abilities, develops empathy, and fosters critical thinking skills. I don't watch or listen to the news. Instead, I skim the headlines and read the articles I find important. Without the ability to read, I would have to rely on the talking heads to tell me what I need to know."
In today's digital world, Eddie aims to encourage young readers—especially boys—to step away from screens and pick up books that spark their imaginations. His "Caden Chronicles" and "Caribbean Chronicles" series, along with his boating books and Christian Living works, are designed to engage young minds and foster a lifelong love of reading.
