Ventosa Vineyards Earns Seven Medals at 2026 New York Wine Classic

GENEVA, N.Y. - TelAve -- Ventosa Vineyards is proud to announce that all seven wines submitted to the 2026 New York Wine Classic earned medals in the prestigious competition, one of New York State's premier wine competitions.
The award-winning Ventosa Vineyards wines include:
This year's competition featured more than 100 wineries submitting more than 700 wines, making it one of the largest showings in the competition's history. Wines were evaluated through a blind tasting process by the expert sensory panel at the Beverage Testing Institute (BevTest). The panel includes sommeliers, beverage directors, educators, retail buyers, and other seasoned beverage industry professionals.

"These accolades are another testament to Ventosa's continued dedication to excellence and quality in winemaking, as well as our commitment to showcasing the character and versatility of Seneca Lake wines."
The 2026 New York Wine Classic highlights the continued growth and recognition of New York's wine industry. Sam Filler, Executive Director of the New York Wine & Grape Foundation, noted that New York's cool-climate growing regions are exceptionally well suited for the elegant and complex wine styles sought by today's wine drinkers.
"The 2026 New York Wine Classic Awards are more than a celebration of the winning wineries — they're confirmation that the Empire State's winemaking prowess can't be underestimated," said Wanda Mann. "The honored wineries speak to the quality, diversity, and creativity of New York wines. Stop calling us an up-and-coming region; New York has arrived."

Established in 1985, the New York Wine Classic has recognized excellence in New York winemaking for more than four decades, showcasing wines from the state's diverse American Viticultural Areas (AVAs), including the Finger Lakes, Lake Erie, Niagara Escarpment, Upper Hudson, Hudson River Region, Champlain Valley of New York, and Long Island.
