TD Ameritrade Network invited Wireless and Telecom Analyst Jeff Kagan to discuss the changing wireless and telecom industry, which stocks are best positioned for growth and what is coming next
ATLANTA - TelAve -- Atlanta, GA: Wireless and Telecom Analyst Jeff Kagan appeared on the TD Ameritrade Network as an industry expert discussing the current state of the wireless and telecom industry, the performance of AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon, other competitors, the growth wave and the coming growth opportunities investors need to be aware of.
Kagan discussed why AT&T and Verizon are struggling today, and why T-Mobile continues to show strong growth.
Kagan discussed how growth in the wireless and telecom sector will come from new areas like Private Wireless and the move to 5G-Advanced.
Private Wireless is a growth opportunity for AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon. The question is how well they will perform in this new area against a growing and very competitive playing field.
Private Wireless is a rapidly growing new sector for companies like Qualcomm, Betacom, Huawei, Cisco, Federated Wireless, NTT, Ericsson Cradlepoint, Intel, Samsung and others.

This means there is both a challenge and a growth opportunity for leaders of the older sector, AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon.
5G Advanced, or as Huawei calls it, 5.5G represents the next level of 5G. It will be faster and even more immediate with even lower latency.
5G-Advanced has the potential to keep driving the wireless industry as competitors continue to invest hundreds of billions of dollars in this next level technology.
This is a powerful growth opportunity for players like Qualcomm, Huawei, Ericsson and Nokia. However, it only intensified the problems carriers like AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon.
The weak economy is another important piece of the puzzle as well. Today, many consumers are more interested in lowering their costs than in new technology like 5G.
Kagan says, that is putting the squeeze on wireless networks from both ends. They need to keep investing just to keep up with the competition, yet they are not seeing consumer adoption and higher revenues as they had hoped.
