Wireless Innovation Forum Announces Sony Group's Sho Furuichi as Winner of 2022 President's Award

Annual award given for sustained outstanding contribution in support of the Forum's activities

WASHINGTON - TelAve -- The Wireless Innovation Forum (WInnForum), a non-profit international industry association dedicated to driving the future of radio communications and systems worldwide, has announced Sho Furuichi of Sony Group as winner of its annual President's Award.

The President's Award is presented to individuals in recognition of their sustained outstanding contributions in support of the Wireless Innovation Forum and its activities. This year's recipient, Sho Furuichi, was the editor of five WInnF Specifications (TS) and one Technical Report (TR). He made 31 written contributions in 2021 and another 30+ contributions in 2022.

John Glossner, of Optimum Semiconductor Technologies and President of the Forum, commented, "I've been the editor of TR's. Writing one is a monumental task but six is beyond belief." He further stated, "what is not always appreciated is that the TS writer is not just an author. When you make updates to a TS you need to be sensitive to inputs with differing views. It is almost like being half diplomat/negotiator and half writer. The fact that Sho could have so many reports successfully balloted by our 80 member companies is a testament to his effectiveness. I am honored and pleased to present this year's President's award to Sho. Well done! Very much deserved."
