BEAVERTON, Ore. - TelAve -- The Apereo Foundation is pleased to welcome the Samvera Community to the Apereo ecosystem.

Samvera is an international collaboration dedicated to developing and sustaining open source digital repository technologies used by libraries, archives, and research institutions. Through community governance and collaborative development, Samvera helps organizations preserve and provide access to scholarly publications, research outputs, audiovisual materials, and cultural heritage collections.

Joining Apereo as a comprehensive community, Samvera brings together software platforms, institutional adopters, developers, librarians, archivists, and digital preservation professionals committed to ensuring that knowledge remains accessible for future generations.

Samvera develops and supports three primary open source platforms:

• Avalon Media System for audiovisual collections
• Hyrax, a flexible repository framework
• Hyku, a turnkey repository solution built on Hyrax

The partnership also marks an important milestone as Samvera becomes Apereo's first community dedicated to library and archival technologies.
