City of Naperville Launches New and Improved eBill Portal
TelAve News/10883783
~ Naperville, IL - The City of Naperville has announced the launch of a new and improved eBill portal, providing utility customers with a more convenient and user-friendly way to view and pay their monthly bills online. This new portal, available at www.naperville.il.us/ebill, offers a range of features to help customers manage their utility accounts with ease.
One of the key features of the new eBill portal is the ability for users to view their billing history, set up automatic payments, and manage their account details all in one place. Customers are encouraged to enroll in the new system to take advantage of paperless billing, 24/7 access to account information, and the convenience of online payments.
Current users of the existing eBill system must re-enroll in the new system before January 1st in order to continue receiving paperless bills. Failure to do so will result in a reversion back to paper bills once the former system is deactivated. It is important for customers to re-enroll as it ensures account protection, verifies customer identities, and maintains accurate and secure billing records. For those who are not currently enrolled in eBill, enrollment is open at any time.

The enhancements made to the new eBill portal were based on customer feedback gathered over the past decade that online billing has been available. The chosen vendor for this project, Sebis Direct Inc., also manages the City's paper utility bills which provides a more seamless experience for customers both online and offline.
Some key features of the new portal include a simplified and user-friendly design that makes it easier for customers to navigate their accounts and view bills. Time-saving payment options such as automatic payments and saved payment methods help prevent missed due dates and late fees. The updated password requirements also provide enhanced security while allowing for easy-to-remember credentials.
Customers will now be able to view up to 13 months of statements as they become available, which is more than double the 6 months previously offered. The bill format has also been improved to feature a cleaner layout, first introduced to paper billing customers in summer 2024, making it easier for customers to understand their account details.

In addition to these improvements, the new eBill portal also supports environmentally friendly practices by offering paperless billing and anytime account management. This helps reduce mail clutter and supports the City's efforts towards sustainability.
According to Naperville Finance Director Raymond Munch, "The new portal offers practical improvements that will make online billing easier than ever for Naperville customers. The updates reflect customer feedback, and we're excited to deliver a more user-friendly system."
