DENVER ~ In a recent report by US News and World Report, three Colorado universities have been recognized among the top 400 universities in the world. Governor Jared Polis celebrated this achievement, highlighting the state's commitment to education and its impact on the global stage.

The University of Colorado Boulder ranked at No. 105, followed by the University of Colorado Anschutz at No. 193, and Colorado State University at No. 347. With a population of only 6 million people, Colorado's representation on this list is significant, making up .75% of the top universities worldwide.

Governor Polis expressed his excitement for this recognition, stating that education is a top priority in Colorado. He emphasized the state's efforts to support students, educators, and families throughout their academic journey through various initiatives such as early childhood education and apprenticeships.

This news comes just days after US News and World Report named Colorado as the number one state in education for 2026, rising from its previous spot at number three in 2025. Executive Director of the Colorado Department of Higher Education JB Holston praised this achievement as a reflection of the exceptional work happening at public universities in the state.
