Governor Ron DeSantis Appoints Three to the Florida Transportation Commission

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. ~ In a recent announcement, Governor Ron DeSantis has appointed Thomas C. Nash II and reappointed Ronald Howse and Russell Roberts to the Florida Transportation Commission. These individuals bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the commission, which is responsible for overseeing the state's transportation policies and programs.

Nash, a Shareholder and Chairman of Macfarlane Ferguson & McMullen, P.A., has a strong background in law and community involvement. He previously served as the Chairman of the Morton Plant Mease Foundation and is currently a member of the Morton Plant Mease Hospital Board of Trustees. Nash holds a bachelor's degree from the University of the South and a juris doctor from Samford University.

Howse, Owner and Chief Executive Officer of Real Deal Development Group, brings his extensive knowledge in engineering to the commission. He also serves on the Eastern Florida State College District Board of Trustees and the St. Johns River Water Management District. Howse earned his bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of Central Florida.

Roberts, Senior Policy Advisor for the Federal Railroad Administration, has an impressive background in government affairs. He previously served as Vice President of Government Affairs for Brightline Trains Florida, LLC., as well as Chief of Staff to former Congressman John Mica. Roberts is also actively involved in his community, having served on various boards such as Florida Tax Watch Board of Directors and American Public Transportation Association. He attended both the University of Maryland and University of South Florida.

These appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate, but Governor DeSantis is confident that these individuals will bring valuable insights to help improve transportation in Florida. With their diverse backgrounds and dedication to their communities, Nash, Howse, and Roberts are sure to make significant contributions to the commission's efforts.
