Mercy Names Stephanie Clements as Chief Nurse Executive

ST. LOUIS, March 26, 2025 ~ Mercy Hospital has announced the appointment of Stephanie Clements as their new chief nurse executive (CNE). With decades of experience in health systems across three states, Clements is a highly respected leader in the field of nursing.
Having previously served as a vice president at Mercy Hospital Oklahoma City, Clements is now taking on the role of CNE at Mercy's headquarters in St. Louis. In this position, she will oversee more than 15,000 nurses across Mercy hospitals and clinics in five states.
Clements expressed her excitement and humility at being given this opportunity to lead such a dedicated and compassionate group of nurses. She recognizes the crucial role that nurses play in the overall patient experience, stating that they are "the lifeblood of every hospital and clinic."
Her extensive nursing career began in 1994 as a registered labor and delivery nurse in Texas. She then went on to work in various healthcare settings, including outpatient infusion, perioperative services, neonatal intensive care, and medical-surgical nursing. Throughout her career, she has held every nursing leadership position from floor nurse to charge nurse to unit manager.

He also highlighted her exceptional leadership capabilities, which have been demonstrated through her previous roles as a hospital CEO and community chief nursing officer.
