FOGLESVILLE, Pa. - TelAve -- After nearly four decades helping families plan for the future, Michael Fischer has learned that a story almost always lies behind the numbers.

Those are the stories Fischer hopes to explore through Legacy League, a new podcast from Client 1st Financial that brings together business leaders, entrepreneurs and people making a difference in the Lehigh Valley for candid conversations about life, money, family and the experiences that shaped them.

"After 38 years of doing this work, I've learned that a financial plan only tells part of someone's story," said Fischer. "Behind it are parents who taught them how to save, experiences that changed the way they think about giving, mistakes they learned from and people they want to take care of. Those are the conversations I want to have on Legacy League."

Legacy League takes the kinds of conversations Fischer has spent decades having with clients beyond the walls of his office and into the broader community. Topics range from early experiences with money and family expectations to career decisions, community involvement and philanthropy.

"I've spent most of my career asking people questions about where they want to go," said Fischer. "With this podcast, I get to ask more about how they got there. I'm interested in what shaped people, the lessons they've carried with them and what the rest of us might be able to learn from their experiences."

Early episodes feature voices from across the Lehigh Valley, including Ashley Russo, co-founder of Turnstone Creative and CEO of Magnaplate; Laura McHugh, chief engagement officer at United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley; and Eric Strauss, partner at Gross McGinley, LLP.
