Fire Chief Tom Williams expressed his gratitude for the swift authorization from Mayor Brown and the coordination with local fire agencies that allowed them to rapidly deploy their resources to assist their overwhelmed partners on the other side of the state.

The duration of the deployment is uncertain as many areas in the affected region are expected to remain under a Severe Flood Risk through Saturday. The Water Rescue Team can be seen in related photos provided by Spokane Fire PIO Justin de Ruyter.
