"To live with the mindset of excellence, wellness, and joy, we must have a courage that is not passive."

HARTFORD, Conn. - TelAve -- In her new book, Life Life Courageously, author Jessica A. N. Fett shares personal stories as a survivor of a traumatic brain injury (TBI) and living with disability in the face of bullies, body image disturbance, gun violence, and chronic pain. Her book offers hope and help for readers facing their own challenges in life.

Fett almost died when she was five years old, surviving an automobile accident but suffering from a traumatic brain injury, which took years of recovery that required perseverance, determination, and courage. Fett says, "In order to live with the mindset of excellence, wellness, and joy, we must have a courage that is not passive."

Sharing her story took courage, too. "Writing this book led me to experience again each story that I shared, but from the other side. Some of the stories were still painful and difficult to tell, yet I felt it was my duty to be faithful to God in what He wanted me to do," Fett added.

"Writing Live Life Courageously has been a soul-wrenching and cathartic experience. Now that I am on this side of publication, I feel more confident in my faith and a little stronger emotionally." She's already writing her next book.

Fett, originally from Farmington Hills, Michigan, is an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) who graduated from Duke University, Sigma Theta Tau. When she's not writing, the Connecticut resident loves to research, read, walk, dance, and spend time with family.
