The Biz Plans Releases Canadian Business Plan Benchmarks 2026 for Entrepreneurs
TelAve News/10909220
TORONTO - TelAve -- The Biz Plans, a Toronto-based business plan writing firm, has published the Canadian Business Plan Benchmarks 2026, a free online study designed to show Canadian entrepreneurs what a funding-ready business plan actually looks like — and how their own plan measures up before a lender, landlord, or immigration officer ever sees it.
Thousands of Canadian business plans are prepared every year for bank loans, Canada Small Business Financing Program (CSBFP) applications, leases, investors, and business immigration programs such as the Start-up Visa. Yet many applicants have never seen a clear picture of what decision-makers expect: the structure, the depth of market analysis, and the standard of financial projections that separate an approved application from a declined one. The Benchmarks study was created to close that gap, setting out in one place the elements that strong Canadian business plans share and the shortcomings that most often weaken them.

"A business plan is usually the first — and sometimes the only — chance an entrepreneur gets to make their case," said Atul Jagga, CPA (Ontario) and founder of The Biz Plans. "We published these benchmarks because the expectations are rarely written down anywhere an applicant can actually read them. When owners understand what a complete, credible plan looks like before they apply, they make better decisions, and lenders and officers get applications they can properly assess. That is better for everyone in the process."
The study is available free of charge on The Biz Plans website, alongside the firm's free AI business plan generator, TheBizPlanAI, which helps entrepreneurs produce a first structured draft of their plan at no cost. Both resources reflect the firm's founding in 2016 and its work preparing business plans, financial models, and pitch decks for entrepreneurs across Canada.
