UK Beauty Blogger Launches Free Skincare Routine Checker That Cites a Study for Every Warning
TelAve News/10909399
The Neveen Edit's free checker tells shoppers which skincare products are fine together, which to split between morning and night, and which to keep apart, with 109 sources behind it.
TelAve -- Beauty blogger Neveen Wood, who writes The Neveen Edit, has launched a free online tool for one of the most common skincare questions: can you use these products together?
The Skincare Routine Checker lets anyone paste in an ingredient list, or just type a short product name like "anua azelaic", then pick morning, night or both for each product. Results come back colour coded. Red means don't mix, amber means split them or go slowly, green is fine together and blue means the two actually help each other. Grey flags when a routine doubles up on the same thing, and the checker puts the steps in order too. Users can also pick their skin type, including sensitive, rosacea, acne-prone and seb derm.
Every warning links to the study behind it, and the checker draws on 109 sources in total.
"I built a skincare routine checker because I wanted to know if my products clash or just cancel each other out," said Wood. "Turns out the answer is usually more relaxed than the rules you hear."

Some of what the checker covers:
Retinol and vitamin C can be used in the same routine. The easy way is vitamin C in the morning under sunscreen and retinol at night.
The old "never mix niacinamide and vitamin C" warning comes from lab tests on pure ingredients. A 60-woman trial used a serum with niacinamide, vitamin C and tranexamic acid together, and it was well tolerated.
A few pairs really should stay apart. Benzoyl peroxide breaks down prescription tretinoin, and dapsone gel used with benzoyl peroxide can stain skin and hair orange. For prescription skincare, the checker points people back to their prescriber.
The Skincare Routine Checker is free at https://neveenwood.com/skincare-mixing-checker/ and at the shorter address skinveen.com.
