Using geolocation, storytelling, trivia, challenges and gamification, users discover incredible history hiding in plain sight.
Instead of simply reading a textbook or watching another YouTube Short, users visit the actual locations where history happened, unlock Waypoints, earn points and badges, answer trivia and compete with friends, families and classmates.
"History is literally all around us, but most of us walk right past it," said founder and U.S. Marine Corps veteran Zachary Green. "American Waypoints gets people exploring and puts them on the actual ground where history happened."

Everyone knows the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument, but what about the stories hiding between them? From the Titanic Memorial to the John Paul Jones Memorial and tiny plaques marking extraordinary events, American Waypoints helps users find the history they would otherwise walk right past.
The Indiegogo campaign will help fund the Washington, D.C. expansion, historical research, new Waypoints, content development and additional gamification features.
