"Nightmare Bugs" is an animated film created single-handedly by an animator whose talent has been recognized even by an Oscar®-winning director. The crowdfunding campaign offers perks such as the chance to appear in the film as an animated character

TOKYO, Japan - TelAve -- Saku Sakamoto is an international animation artist whose talent is recognized even by Director Kunio Katô—winner of the 81st Academy Award® for Best Animated Short Film for "Tsumiki no ie".

Sakamoto produced the feature-length animated film "Nightmare Bugs" entirely on his own; however, his uncompromising dedication led to the project running out of funds and stalling mid-production.

Despite remaining unfinished, the film was screened at prestigious events such as the Sitges Film Festival and the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, where it garnered critical acclaim.

In response to the many audience members who expressed a desire to see the complete version, a crowdfunding campaign was launched on Kickstarter.

【Recommendation comment】

"It's a hell version of 'Alice in Wonderland'."

- Official statement from the 58th Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia.

I'm really looking forward to Saku's feature film.
I thought it would be difficult to make it all alone as usual.
I am worried about your health.
However, I am also supporting the new Saku's World.

【Project Overview】
Saku Sakamoto is a rising-star animator whose talent has garnered support from Academy Award®-winning directors and filmmakers behind U.S. box-office No.1 hits.
He took on the ambitious challenge of creating the feature-length animated film "Nightmare Bugs" entirely on his own.
However, his uncompromising dedication led to the budget running dry, forcing production to halt.
Despite remaining unfinished, the film was screened at prestigious international festivals—such as Sitges and Annecy—where it received high acclaim.
