NYC Basket Brigade 501C3 Calls for Urgent Support Amid Rising Food Insecurity

Community Organization Seeks 35000 and Volunteers to Meet Thanksgiving Demand
WESTCHESTER, N.Y. - TelAve -- The NYC Basket Brigade, Inc., a renowned non-profit organization dedicated to feeding families in need, is facing an unprecedented challenge this year. With over 1.5 million New Yorkers fed since its inception, the organization is now calling for urgent support to meet the growing demand for food assistance.
The NYC and Westchester Basket Brigades have been feeding families in need in the NYC tri-state area since 1996.
Anna Olivo, a long-standing member of the NYC Basket Brigade, has witnessed the increasing struggles of families across New York City. "The need right now is unlike anything I've seen in a long time," she stated. With millions of Americans receiving only partial SNAP benefits, many New Yorkers are left wondering how they will feed their families this month.

Every Thanksgiving, the NYC Basket Brigade's volunteers unite to prepare and deliver baskets filled with food, essentials, and love to families in need. Each basket represents more than just a meal; it symbolizes hope and comfort, reminding families that they are not forgotten.
This year, however, the organization is $35,000 short of its goal to feed every family that has requested help. Rising food costs, particularly for turkeys, have compounded the challenge, necessitating more volunteers than ever before.
The NYC Basket Brigade has scheduled volunteer events in Brooklyn on Saturday, November 15, from 10 AM to 3 PM, and in Westchester from Monday, November 17 to Saturday, November 22, with a distribution day on Saturday, November 22, starting at 9 AM. Community members are encouraged to sign up and lend a hand.
For those unable to volunteer, donations are crucial. Every dollar contributes to feeding another family, and with company matching programs, donations can have double the impact. Interested parties can donate by visiting NYCBasketBrigade.org (https://nycbasketbrigade.org/#donate).

We deliver hope, dignity, and a reminder that New Yorkers look out for one another."
