APOPKA, Fla. - TelAve -- The Naismith International Basketball Foundation (NIBF) has announced a new volunteer leadership relationship with On The Marc TV, LLC, expanding the Foundation's capabilities in media, strategic partnerships, outreach, storytelling, and streaming innovation. Marc Beilin, representing On The Marc TV, LLC, will serve as Volunteer Director of Media, Strategic Partnerships & Streaming Innovation, helping NIBF carry the Naismith legacy, mission, programs, and educational impact into the next century.

The relationship represents another step in NIBF's effort to preserve the history and values behind basketball while using modern technology and media to introduce that legacy to a new generation. NIBF and On The Marc TV, LLC will explore opportunities involving digital storytelling, interviews, documentaries, podcasts, live programming, event coverage, streaming, educational content, strategic partnerships, and emerging communications platforms.

"Basketball has entered an entirely different world from the one Dr. James Naismith knew, but the values behind the game should never be left behind," said Hector R. Perdomo Sr., Volunteer President & Naismith Legacy Keeper of NIBF. "Our responsibility is not only to protect the history—we have to find new ways to tell the story. On The Marc TV, LLC gives us another opportunity to use media, partnerships, outreach and streaming technology to carry that story into the next century."

The work may also support NIBF initiatives including Naismith's Champion of Champions™ and other Foundation programs connecting basketball's history with future generations of students and athletes.

The appointment is a volunteer relationship. Future projects requiring professional production, streaming, technology, outside vendors, contractors, or other paid services within the scope of On The Marc TV, LLC will be addressed separately through written project agreements.

For NIBF, the larger objective is simple: preserve where basketball came from while preparing the Naismith legacy for where the game is going next.

"We are not trying to leave the past behind," Perdomo added. "We are taking it with us. From a game created in 1891 to a game now played and watched around the world, the next chapter deserves to be told using the tools of the next century."

The Naismith International Basketball Foundation works to preserve and advance the legacy, history, principles, and values associated with Dr. James Naismith and the game he created. Through education, sportsmanship, youth initiatives, partnerships, and basketball programming, NIBF works to ensure future generations understand that the game is about more than what happens on the scoreboard.
