Rochester: City Offices to Close in Observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday

~ Rochester City Hall, Neighborhood Service Centers, R-Centers, Rochester Animal Services, the Rochester Public Market, and the Honorable Loretta C. Scott Center for Human Services administrative office building at 57 St. Paul St. will all be closed in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. This closure will take place on Thursday, Nov. 28 and Friday, Nov. 29.

The R-Centers will also be closed from Thursday, Nov. 28 through Saturday, Nov. 30. Additionally, all branches of the Rochester Public Library will be closed on Thanksgiving Day but will reopen on Friday, Nov. 29 for their normal hours.

Residents are advised that refuse and recycling collection will not take place on Thursday, Nov. 28 and will instead be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.

In addition to these closures, Rochester Animal Services will also be closed to the public on both Thursday and Friday.

The 311 Call Center will also be observing the holiday and will be closed on Thursday but will reopen on Friday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

For those looking to do some last-minute Thanksgiving shopping at the Rochester Public Market, it will be open for business on Tuesday, Nov. 26 and Wednesday, Nov. 27 from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m., but it will be closed on Thanksgiving Day itself. The market's regular schedule will resume on Saturday, Nov. 30.

Families looking for some pre-Thanksgiving fun can head over to the Adams Street R-Center for their annual holiday Skate and Swim party from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov.26.
