USS John F. Kennedy Completes Sea Trials With In-Mar-Supplied Marine Equipment
TelAve News/10905113
Louisiana-based In-Mar Systems supplied critical marine equipment for the future USS John F. Kennedy (CVN-79), which completed acceptance sea trials on August 15, 2026.
GONZALES, La. - TelAve -- In-Mar Systems and In-Mar Solutions, Louisiana-based designers and suppliers of marine equipment, announced that the future USS John F. Kennedy (CVN-79) successfully completed acceptance sea trials on August 15, 2026, with marine equipment and components supplied by In-Mar aboard the ship.
The milestone brings the U.S. Navy's second Gerald R. Ford-class nuclear-powered aircraft carrier another step closer to joining the fleet and marks another major naval shipbuilding program supported by In-Mar.
"We're proud to see equipment supplied by In-Mar aboard the John F. Kennedy as she moves through these important milestones," said Glynn Grantham, President of In-Mar Systems. "Sea trials are where the equipment, systems and workmanship that go into a ship are ultimately put to the test. Supporting a carrier of this significance is a testament to the quality of the products we represent and the commitment of the people behind them."

Built by HII's Newport News Shipbuilding division, John F. Kennedy is the second Gerald R. Ford-class aircraft carrier. The ship incorporates advanced technologies and capabilities intended to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency throughout its service life.
Acceptance sea trials followed builder's sea trials earlier in 2026 and provided additional testing and evaluation of ship systems and overall operations at sea. With acceptance trials complete, the next major step is preliminary acceptance, which will allow the Navy to begin underway test and evaluation of Kennedy's unique systems. Current Navy planning calls for delivery in 2027.
For more than 45 years, In-Mar has supported U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard and commercial maritime customers with specialized marine equipment for demanding operating environments. The company represents and supplies products including marine firefighting systems, heavy-duty window wiper and wash systems, helm chairs, marine seating, window shades and other specialized vessel equipment.

"Modern naval ships are the result of an enormous industrial team," Grantham said. "We're proud that a Louisiana company like In-Mar can contribute to that effort and support the people building and operating the Navy's newest ships."
In-Mar's participation in major U.S. shipbuilding programs reflects the role specialized suppliers play throughout the American maritime industrial base, providing the equipment, components and expertise required to build and outfit complex naval vessels.
